GEOSTATS 2008 VIII International Geostatistics Congress

1-5 December, Santiago, Chile

Editors: Julián M. Ortiz and Xavier Emery, Mining Engineering Department, University of Chile.

Two volumes, 1188 pages. Includes CD-ROM.

The two volumes of the conference proceedings consist of 128 peer-reviewed technical papers presented at the Eighth International Geostatistics Congress held in December 2008 in Santiago, Chile. The papers deal with theoretical and practical developments of geostatistics, and are organised in the following sections:

  • Plenary sessions
  • Theory
  • Petroleum
  • Mining
  • Environment and hydrology
  • Other applications
  • Posters

The contributions provide an account of the state of the art in diverse fields, tendencies and new challenges in geostatistical research. Topics include spatial sampling, variogram modelling, spatial prediction, conditional simulation, multiple-point statistics, fracture modelling, change of support, and point processes, as well as applications to petroleum, mining, environmental science, hydrology, soil science, geomechanics, ecology, fishery, and forestry.

This publication will be of interest to scientists, researchers and practitioners in the academia and the industry, engaged in the evaluation of natural resources and hazards, and the quantitative modelling in geology, mining and petroleum engineering, hydrology, ecology, forestry, soil and environmental sciences.

Price: USD 200 / CLP 120,000
